Charlton Athletic women continue to impress with an incredible run in the league as Karen Hills’ Addicks remained unbeaten throughout 2025 in the WSL 2. A remarkable achievement that reflects not only the girls’ quality on the pitch, but also the unity of the squad, backroom staff, and work behind the scenes that has led our women’s side to the top of the league at the turn of the new year.
The Head of Women's Football at the club, Jemma White, has been clear that while an immense sense of pride can be taken from the milestone of going a whole calendar year without defeat in the league, the focus remains firmly on the journey ahead.
When asked just how successful 2025 has been for our Women’s side, White said: “Being unbeaten, firstly, for a year, 365 calendar days, is really impressive, and it’s something that we’re happy to add to the filing cabinet… If we do the things right, we’ll be where we’re meant to be at the end of the year.”
The consistency shown by our Women’s side in 2025 has raised questions of a potential promotion to the top-flight, but White has stressed the importance to remain grounded as she said, “everybody that we’ve got is working 100 miles an hour, and 100% at the moment.”
“We’re fully aware if we do go up, we’re going to expect more of people, and expect more of ourselves. We put ourselves in a position to be successful, and you can’t take your foot off the gas when you are successful. That’s when the hard work sort of starts.”

However, it’s not only the positive results that has pleased White, as she continued by shedding light on the club’s work off the pitch being a key factor for the success on the grass. Our Head of Women’s Football believes that the women’s teams’ growing profile has been shaped by a clear and consistent brand identity that resonates with our supporters and the wider Charlton family across Greenwich.
White said: “Everyone needs an identity… we are lucky that the staff that we have in those areas are really talented, and we’ve put a lot of support into them… you’re seeing the rewards from their hard work and effort.”
In terms of the aims for our Charlton Athletic women, White has been encouraged by the current success of the squad with exciting times on the horizon which have been hugely aided by the Addicks fans unwavering support.
The main aim for White is to give back to Charlton fans and those in the local area for the continued backing through the highs as well as the lows. The Head of Women’s Football said: “Charlton, Greenwich, South East London is a massive area, so I think that we can give something to people that is theirs… because of their choices, and their interests, and their hobbies, and their passions. I think that’s really important. If we can do that in communities, I’d be really happy with that.”
White has been instrumental in guiding the operations of our women’s team at Charlton Athletic and has fostered a strong bond between players, staff and supporters which has been reflected in the results over the 12 months.

With Women’s football in recent years seeing a massive increase in viewership, White shared why people should come down to The Valley and support the side in 2026 and beyond. The Head of Women’s Football said: “I don’t want people to come and watch us and be supportive of us just because we’re winning. I want them to come because they’re interested in how we’re doing so well, and they love it that much. Win, lose, draw, snow, sleet, they still want to be there because it’s theirs, and they’re happy to be there.”
Supporters are warmly encouraged to be part of Charlton Athletic Women’s journey with our first home game of the year only a week away as we take on Swindon Town in the FA Cup. Click the link below to get your tickets.
