Why Sports Journalism and what have I learnt?
After being in the same shoes as many kids growing up wishing to be a footballer, my passion to be a Sports Journalist came at the age of 16 after being released from Luton Town academy. Always knowing I want to be involved within the sports industry I turned my attention to journalism with a love of creative writing, in particular writing match reports for my local Sunday League team Toddington Rovers.
This then translated into studying a degree in Sports Journalism at Leeds Beckett University where I had the chance to broaden my skillset in writing, videography and photography as well as getting to grips with editing different forms of media and social media platforms

To gain experience in the Sports Journalism industry I secured two years of work placement within the media team of North Yorkshire football side Harrogate Town AFC who play their football in League Two. This has given me the opportunity to get industry experience as well as build up good contacts and friendships as I strive to earn full-time employment in sports media
